Illinois Jump$tart Coalition seeks to improve the personal financial literacy of young adults by facilitating financial education programs for K-12 students and young adults. Illinois Jump$tart Coalition's purpose is to foster financial literacy throughout the state by providing avenues and opportunities for education, information, and materials dissemination that focus on and promote financial literacy. The Illinois Jump$tart Coalition believes that all K-12 students and young adults need to have the financial literacy necessary to make informed financial decisions. The Illinois Jump$tart Coalition is a proud affiliate of the National Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy. The National Jump$tart Coalition, based in Washington, D.C., was first convened in 1995 and consists of over 200 organizations committed to improving the financial literacy of America's youth.
